A true angel has left her earthly confines and returned to her heavenly realm and into the loving arms of her eternal companion and beloved daughter.

Joanne Taylor Call, 91, passed away peacefully of causes incident to age on Wednesday, October 5, 2022, surrounded by her devoted children at Quail Meadow Assisted living in North Ogden, Utah.

Joanne was born October 8, 1930 to Russell Fox Taylor and Mary Emma Rhees Taylor in Ogden, Utah.  She spent her early years in Salt Lake City and at the age of 8 she returned to Ogden with her mom and sister.

As a young girl Joanne loved to dance but was persuaded to take piano lessons because her mother told her she would not always be able to dance for her children and grandchildren, but she would be able to play music for them.  Joanne became a gifted pianist and taught students for many years.  She also shared her talents as ward organist for most of her adult life.

After graduating from Ogden High School, she reconnected with a high school friend who became her cherished husband, Cyril Call.  They were married for time and all eternity in the Salt Lake Temple on June 1, 1951.  Their marriage was blessed with six children – four daughters and two sons.  They had homes in Ogden and Bountiful, raised their children in Mountain Green, and built their final home in North Ogden.  Their family has now grown to total 115, including spouses, grandchildren, great-grandchildren, and one great-great-grandchild.

Nothing in life was more important to Joanne than her family.  She knew all of them by name and each one knew they were loved.  It was always such a joy to visit Mom and Dad, and no one was ever allowed to leave hungry, without a hug, or hearing the beautiful words, “I love you”.

She was a devoted member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints and served in many callings such as Relief Society and Primary presidencies, along with ward organist.  She and Cyril were even able to fulfill her love of dance as Stake Dance Directors for the youth.  Together, they also served in the Louisville, Kentucky mission.

Joanne is survived by daughters Jennifer Stoker (Bill), Kathleen Offret (David), and Marybeth Runnels (Brian); and sons Joseph (RaQuelle), R. Kent (Dana). Their second daughter Marcianne Monsen (Scott) passed away on June 8, 1976.

She was also preceded in death by her husband, Cyril, her parents, sister Luana, and granddaughter, Brigetta.

The Call family would like to express deep appreciation to the loving care provided to Joanne by the staff at Quail Meadow and Inspiration Hospice.
