LT. Col. Joanne Ruth Potter USAF (retired)

Joanne died in her home in Mary Esther on March 3, 2016 after a long illness.

She was born in Somerset, PA on June 3, 1931 to Blair H. and Ruth E. (Knupp) Mulhollen.  Joanne was preceded in death by husband John P. Potter, brother James Mulhollen and sister Julia (Mulhollen) Sieg.

Joanne was a highly decorated USAF nurse that honorably served in various bases around the world.  One of her many accomplishments was being the first woman to graduate from the Sea Survival Course in 1970.  Joanne had a special zest for life and generous nature as evidenced by her volunteer work with the elderly and their caregivers.

She and John loved Africa and went on many photo safaris, where she took, and shared, thousands of excellent photographs. She was also an accomplished artist, mostly in watercolors.
