Joanne O’Connor, 78, 2969 Parkway Ct., Galesburg died at 8:56 a.m., Friday, April 3, 2009 at Rosewood Nursing Home. Joanne was born August 6, 1930, in Peoria, Il., the daughter of Ryburn and Goldie McKenzie. She married Frederick O’Connor on June 20, 1953 at St. Edwards Catholic Church in Chillicothe, Il. Surviving is her husband, four sons, Thomas (Jane) O’Connor of Wataga, Il., Martin (Melissa) O’Connor of Round Hill, Va., Michael (Shannon) O’Connor of Austin, Tx., and Brian (Sheila) O’Connor of Victoria, Il.; and two daughters, Teresa (Paul) Selin of Champaign, Il., and Angela (Michael) Ingle of Allen Tx.; 11 Grandchildren. Also surviving are one brother, Robert (Marilyn) McKenzie of Bradford Il., and one sister Anita Pittman of Naples, Fl. Joanne graduated from Academy of Our Lady in Peoria; attended MaryCrest College and graduated from St. Francis School of Nursing as an X-Ray tech. Joanne was an X-Ray technician at the Galesburg Clinic for 24 years retiring in 1998. Joanne was a member of St. Aloysius Catholic Church, and was a member of the Altar and Rosary Society and taught religion. She was a member of Knox County Home Extension, Neighborhood Club, an election judge, Farm Bureau, she was a 4-H leader, and a member of the Infamous Bridge Club.
