Joanne Jayne Headrick of Boise passed away on August 28, 2018 at a Boise care center just shy of her 96th birthday. Joanne was born September 21, 1922 in Enid Oklahoma to Bertha and Albert Jayne. She attended school in Enid, OK and Oklahoma State College in Stillwater. She married the love of her life, Blaine Headrick, May 1, 1943 in Enid. After living on several military bases in Texas and Oklahoma, Blaine left the States and served in the Burma/China campaign while Joanne returned to Enid where their daughter Jan was born. After the war the family was reunited in Boise. Two sons, Mike and Don, were added to their family.
She is survived by her children: daughter, Jan Gjeitnes of Sola Norway; two sons, Mike (Sharon) Headrick of Garden Valley ID, and Don (Joanna) Headrick of Boise; a sister Barbara Gilbert of Carson City NV; 8 grandchildren (Amy, Camilla, Michelle, Kathrynn, Scott, Chase, Joshua, and Andrea) and 9 great-grandchildren (Emily, Gard, Freyja, Ravn, Jonah, Caroline, Annelie, Madeline, and Pan).
Most will remember Jo for her generosity and her kind and patient attitude, but even more for her sewing. She also enjoyed golfing and related activities for many years at Terrace Lakes.
Her days were filled
With all kinds of fun
Golfing and Bridge
And lunch on the run
A mother and a sister,
Great-gran and wife
Aunt, friend and grandma
She led a full life
She enters her rest now
With family close ‘round,
A strong and kind woman
Whose love knew no bounds
