She was born September 4th, 1962 in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania to Margaret Eibell and William Hartley. She married Bruce Ems on the summer day of August 28th, 1982 in Levittown, Pennsylvania. She impacted many young lives while working as a school cafeteria manager at her kids Bruce and Meghan’s school.
Joanne treated every kid that crossed her path as her own, even provided shelter to a few in need. Joanne had an uncanny ability to befriend everybody and everyone loved her deeply.
She was survived by her husband of 37 years Bruce, her mother Margaret, her father William, her brother Bill, her two children Bruce Jr. and Meghan as well as their spouses Kate and Eddie, and her grandchild Scarlett (daughter of Bruce and Kate).
