Joanna Mae Brown, age 84, of Cicero, IN died Monday, October 21, 2013 at IU Tipton Health Hospital. She was born December 25, 1928 at Toledo, Ohio to Walter and Maude Pauline (Searfoss) Powell.
She was a graduate of Sheridan High School. Joanna was an avid reader and a good cook. She was actively involved with her family in farming.
She married Omer L Brown on January 25, 1947. He preceded her in death January 24, 1997. Additional survivors include two daughters: Linda L. Castor of Sheridan, IN and Gloria J. Beck of Brownsburg, IN, three sons: Jerry L. Brown of Cicero, William J. Brown of Sheridan IN and Gary L. Brown of Cicero, IN, Sisters: Mary Grace Hackethorn and Jeanette Pyle, both of Frankfort, IN, a sister-in-law: Margaret Powell of Tipton, IN. Grandchildren surviving her are: Kyle and Aaron Brown, Raechelle Ewing, Ryan Beck, Stacey Preyss, Erica Matsunaga, Michelle Stephenson and Jessica Barnes and several great-grandchildren.
In addition to her husband and her parents, she was preceded in death by a son: Terry W. Brown, two sisters and a brother.
