Joanna frances pinto, 78 of 15 netop drive, providence, ri died peacefully at her home after suffering from dementia. She spent many years being cared for daily at the hope alzheimers center in cranston where she received the best care from the wonderful staff. Her son daryl cared for her as well when she was at home. The staff at the hope center were amazed at how well he cared for his mom and the family knew he could handle the situation because of their mutual mother and son relationship. Joanna moved from warren to providence and graduated from hope high school in 1962. After graduation she became an or technician at women and infants hospital until retiring. She was born on December 15, 1944 at the former providence lying inn hospital now named women and infants hospital. She was predeceased by her parents jose ramos of providence and mary frances (araujo) ramos of warren and providence. She was also one of seven children. Joanna leaves her only son daryl pinto of providence and her 2 grandsons, emanual lyes of providence and florida and daryl marquis butler of providence atlanta, ga. She was predeceased by two brothers nicholas j. Ramos of providence in 1984 and gerald j. Ramos of providence and savannah, ga in 2022 and a sister pauline braddock of providence in 2015. She is survived by her three remaining siblings, nancy turcotte and dolores walker both of cranston and marie ramos of east providence. Her many nephews and neices adored her outgoing and comedic personality. She was a fun person and it was great to be in her presence. Because of her career at women and infants hospital she was able to be there at several neices and nephews births.
