JoAnn Yeoman Bonwell passed away quietly at her home with her daughters and granddaughter by her side, on January 25, 2020 in Melbourne, Florida. She was born in Chicago, IL, on October, 27, 1929, to proud Irish American parents being the last of four children.
JoAnn graduated from Holy Child High School and at the age of 18 married Roy R. Yeoman, Jr. from the prominent family of jewelers in Waukegan, IL. They moved to North Miami Beach, in 1956 and became active in the local Catholic Community. JoAnn worked for years as a hair stylist at Richards and Burdines Department Stores in North Miami Beach. During that time the Yeomans enjoyed the Florida Keys at the family vacation property on Long Key. The Yeomans hosted many dinner parties where freshly caught fish and lobster were the favorite family dishes.
JoAnn was known for her good sense of humor, popular neighborhood parties, and faithful friendships.
JoAnn was preceded in death by her parents Joseph and Anna Mae, first husband, Roy Yeoman, Jr, siblings Alice, Joseph “Buddy”, Ruth, stepson Allen, and her 2nd husband Miner Bonwell. She is survived by her children, Kathleen (Waitman), Roy III, Patricia (Steve), Danny, and stepson William, 9 grandchildren, and 11 great grandchildren.
