JoAnn Coy Reedy 1946-2012

JoAnn Coy Reedy, wife, mother, grandmother, and long-time resident of the Treasure Valley, quietly left us and returned to her Heavenly Father on Sunday morning. She will be sorely missed by her children, grandchildren, and also by her friends and other relatives.

JoAnn was born in Ogden, Utah to George and Agnes Coy who soon moved to a dairy farm in Meridian, Idaho.  JoAnn was raised there and graduated from Meridian High in 1964.  She raised her four children near her childhood home and all were also Meridian High graduates.

Her life reflected all that we cherish here: family, natural beauty, hard work, God, and country.  She worked for and was loyal to some of Boise’s best-known employers.

JoAnn put the needs of her family above her own physical concerns and faced her struggles with courage. As just one example, she carried two full-size twin boys to a full-term and healthy natural delivery, an exhausting feat which few women, and no men, will repeat.

She is survived by her husband, Brent Reedy of Boise, ID; sister, Elaine Leishman (Wes) of Rogersville, Tennessee;  children, Michelle Pritchett (Troy) Salt Lake City, UT; Jason Colton (Alexa) Boise, ID; Andy Colton (Amy) Edmonds, WA; Jared Colton (Liz) Meridian, ID; stepchildren, Christine Rees (Mart); Eric Reedy (Melissa); Cody Reedy (Tabitha); Mathew Reedy (Kaori);  20 grandchildren, 1 great-grandchild, and former spouse and friend, Dennis Colton.

She was preceded in death by her beloved parents, George and Agnes Coy.
