JoAnn M. Ball, 87 of Grafton, passed away, Sunday, August 7, 2016 at Talbott Personnel Care Home, Belington. She was born in Taylor County, November 27, 1928, a daughter of the late W.R. “Ham” and Thelma Mason Simmons. She was preceded in death by her first husband Charles D. Swisher and second husband Russell “Jeep” Ball.
JoAnn graduated from GHS Class 1946. Was a member of the First Christian Church. She worked at C and C Pharmacy, Ben Franklin Store, Health Mart, and the Mother’s Day Shrine. She was a member of the Naomi Chapter OES #12 and the VFW Ladies Auxiliary. JoAnn loved her family and life.
Surviving are three children, Charles “Chuck” Swisher and wife Wilda, Grafton, Nancy Pattishall, Christiansburg, VA, Patty Scheuvront and husband Tim Bridgeport; step-son: Jerry Ball and wife Evelyn, Charleston, SC. eleven grandchildren, Carlee, Lucas, Ashly, Jennifer, Denny, Chad, Jeremy, Jamie, Timmy, Brian and Jason; several great-grandchildren and great -great grandchildren; one sister, Sherry Isner, Grafton and several nieces and nephews.
In addition to her parents and husbands she was preceded in death by her daughter; Belinda Haller, two brothers; Larry Simmons and Billy Simmons, one sister; Dottie Shoemaker, two great grandsons: Nicholas Lane, and Caupret Rexford Pattishall.
