Joann DeBoard, age 71, of Rensselaer passed away Sunday, February 14, 2016, at the Rensselaer Care Center.
Joann was born in North Judson, Indiana on April 22, 1944, the daughter of Joe and Katherine (Tunis) Bacewic.
Joann had attended both Winamac Schools and North Judson Schools. She moved to Rensselaer in 1969. For over 30 years Joann was an elderly care giver. She married Russell DeBoard on February 3, 1970 and they later divorced.
Surviving are two daughters, Tammy (Dave Vires) DeBoard of Rensselaer and Paula Lockard of Haltom City, Texas; five grandchildren; 10 great-grandchildren; sisters and brothers, Irene (Tom) Harvey of Florida, Bob (Jane) Becewic of Rensselaer, Joe (Rosemary) Bacewic of Rensselaer, Betty (Ron) DeMoss of Rensselaer, Doris (Jerry) Campbell of Rensselaer, Martha (Willie) Linback of Remington, Marvin (Lisa) Bacewic of Delphi, Ind., Rick Bacewic of Rensselaer, Linda (Tony) Braccie of Ballen, Missouri, Roxanne (Bill) Walker of Rensselaer; and a brother-in-law, Mike Walton of Rensselaer.
She was preceded in death by two sisters, Eleanor Hicks and Marilyn Walton, one brother, Danny Bacewic, and her former husband, Russell DeBoard who passed away November 5, 2015.
