JoAnn Daniel, 67, of Pana, died June 11, 2019, at her home.
She was born Sept. 20, 1951, in Beardstown, the daughter of Donald C. and Patricia A. Sinnock Daniel.
She is survived by her brother, Mike (Tina) Daniel of Champaign and her sister, Debbie (Rick) Pettit of Jacksonville; several nieces and nephews; and special friend, Sharon Henschen of Pana.
Ms. Daniel was 1969 graduate of Virginia High School and later graduated from Illinois State University in 1973, with a bachelor’s degree in Elementary Education. She taught 2nd grade in the Pana School District for over 30 years. She had also been a supporter of and involved with the Special Olympics.
JoAnn enjoyed reading, but her passion was teaching. She was proud of all of her students’ success as they grew into adulthood. In some cases, three generations of a family were blessed to be in her classroom.
