Joann A. Brown, 78, formerly of Bridge Street, died Monday, August 1, 2011, at Valley View Nursing Center following a lengthy illness.
Joann was predeceased by her husband, James G. Brown Sr. in 2008.
Joann was a member of St. Joseph the Worker Parish, Annunciation Church, a Navy veteran of the Korean War, a 1953 graduate of Williamsport High School, enjoyed crossword puzzles, reading, history, collecting salt and pepper shakers and was the PEER delegate for Valley View.
Born December 24, 1932 in Williamsport, she was the daughter of Ruth W. Foust.
Surviving are a son, James G. (Susan) Brown Jr. of Erie; daughters, Ruth E. (Howard) Persun of Cogan Station, Mary A. (Robert) King of Williamsport and Katherine M. Taylor of Hughesville; grandchildren, Howard Persun, Kimberly Pickert, Aaron and Andrew Burson, Cameron and Morgan Taylor, and Matthew and Lance Brown; and great grandsons, Aaron Burson Jr. and Nicodemus Pickert.
