DURHAM- Mrs. Joan Turner Carlton, 88, passed away Sunday, October 21, 2018 at her home surrounded by her loving family.
Mrs. Carlton was born September 20, 1930 to the late Henry and Cora Turner in Durham, NC. She was a dental assistant for many years. Mrs. Carlton loved to shop, entertain friends, cook and carry food to her friends. She was a member of Bethesda Baptist Church. Mrs. Carlton will be remembered as a loving and devoted wife and mother.
Mrs. Carlton is preceded in death by her parents, Henry and Cora Turner and several brothers and sisters.
Mrs. Carlton is survived by her husband of 67 years, James W. Carlton of Durham NC; daughter, Kimberly Carlton Carden and husband Charlie of Clayton, NC.
Joan’s family would like to express sincere appreciation for the loving care, kindness and dedication provided by Peggy King, Sara Lockamy, Margaret Lee and Meredith Lee. In addition, the family would like to thank Joan’s nurse Nikki and the CNA’s with Duke Home Hospice for their professionalism and guidance.
