WINSTED – JONES – Joan Thiery-Jones, passed away peacefully on Monday, February 29, 2016. She was the wife of the late William H. Jones. Born on February 10, 1933, in Winsted, CT; the daughter of the late Irving and Lucienne (Tardiff) Thiery. She graduated from The Gilbert High School class of 1951. Joan retired from Winsted Savings Bank after 25 years of service. In her retirement, she was on the Board of the Winsted Housing Authority and was an avid gardener. She is survived by her children; Alan P. Jones (wife, JoAnne Becker) of Winsted, David W. Jones (Donna Ellis) of TN, Edward K. Jones (Patricia Deraleau) of Winsted, Karen Jones-Fox (Catherine Moore) of Manchester; a brother, Edward Thiery of Winsted; sisters, Victoria Atkins and Barbara Sullivan, both of Winsted; her grandchildren, Logan Jones, Steven A. Jones (wife, Jessica Shandra) and great granddaughter, Andi of Torrington. The family would like to thank both Cherry Brook Health Care Center and McLean Home Care for all their kindness and care.
