Joan Squiers, 92, of Cassopolis, died Wednesday, March 21, 2012, in The Timbers, Dowagiac. She was born in Penn Township on August 4, 1919, to Clare and Vesta (Cook) Gleason. Joan married Glenn Squiers in Long Beach, California on March 2, 1943. He preceded her in death on January 31, 1986. She was also preceded by her parents, one son, Craig Squiers, and two brothers Robert Gleason and James Gleason.
She was an active founding member of the Cass County Medical Care Facility Auxiliary. She was an avid bridge player. Joan is survived by two daughters, Lisa (Ron) Smith of Niles and Susan (Russ) Carey of Edwardsburg, one son, Kent Squiers of Boynton Beach, Florida; ten grandchildren, eight great grandchildren; one brother, Dale (Nancy) Gleason of Cassopolis.
