Mrs. Joan S. Williamson, 76, of 624 Williamsburg Terrace died on Saturday, September 21, 2013 at High Point Regional Hospital.
Joan was born on December 23, 1936, in High Point, NC to the late Earl Saunders and Lucy Price Saunders. She was a graduate of William Penn High School and later worked in a furniture factory before she began her own home daycare. She married in 1955 to the late Odell Williamson, Sr.
A faithful servant of our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ, Joan was saved and attended Miracle Temple Church of Deliverance C.O.G.I.C. since its beginning in 1976, where she was a Missionary of the Lord.
She is preceded in death by two daughters, Marchelle and Sharon Williamson; one sister, Nellie Grant; five brothers Earl, Daniel, Nathaniel and Willie.
She is survived by nine children: Jeanna Hudgins (Gregory) of Durham; Myra Holmes (Michael) of Yorktown, VA.; Odell Williamson, Jr. (Cynthia) of Durham; Michael Williamson, Kenneth Williamson; Reginald Williamson (Elaine) all of High Point; Timothy Williamson (Tiffany) of Raleigh; Melissa Quick (Terry) of Jamestown; and Danny Williamson of Liberty; 22 grandchildren; 6 great-grandchildren; two sisters, Yvonne Harrell, Mamaroneck, NY and Lucy Faye Monk (Jean), High Point; one brother, Melvin Saunders (Dean) of High Point, and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives and friends.
