Joan S. LaFleur, 76, widow of Norman LaFleur, of Plainville, died on Monday February 1, 2010 at her home.

Joan was born on November 23, 1933 in Bristol a daughter of the late Catherine S. Thomas and William H. Smith.

She was a long time Bristol resident, having been raised and schooled in Bristol, before moving to Plainville. She retired from Pratt & Whitney, Southington in 1993 after working there for many years. She was a member of St.

She is survived by her three daughters, Denise M. Eckstrom and her husband David R. Eckstrom and Kristi L. Trowbridge and her husband James E. Trowbridge all of Bristol, and Lori Jean of Adams Center, NY; her two sons, Scott T. LaFleur and his wife Christine Nevins of Burlington and Mark T. Menard and Robin Taylor of New York, NY. Her four sisters Dorothy S. Thomas, Grace S. Zettervall and Lois S. Palmisano all of Bristol and Janice S. Mrowka and her husband Joseph Mrowka of Plainville; thirteen grandchildren, three great-grandchildren and many nieces and nephews.

She was predeceased by her husband Norman LaFleur and her youngest son Darren T. LaFleur; three brothers, Edward H. Smith, Sr., Paul Smith and Walter Smith and one sister Norma M. Perniciaro.
