Joan Raynor Williams, age 62, died Wednesday evening at Rex Hospital in Raleigh. Born in Wayne County, she was the daughter of the late Clifton and Josephine Brogden Raynor. Joan was a dedicated member of the Arrington Volunteer Fire Department, the Arrington Ladies Auxiliary and the Wayne County Firemen’s Association Ladies Auxiliary. She served numerous times as the President of the County Ladies Auxiliary and was also awarded the Ladies Auxiliary Person of the Year on several occasions. Joan loved her Lord and the time she spent as a member of the United In Christ Church.
