Mrs. Viets was born August 18, 1933 in Waterbury daughter of the late Joseph S. and Roseann (Caouette) Keefe. Raised in Waterbury she attended local schools and was a graduate of Waterbury Catholic High School, attended St. Joseph College in West Hartford and was a graduate of Central Connecticut State Teachers College in New Britain.
An avid square dancer for most her life, she met her future husband at a square dancing class at the Waterbury YMCA.
In addition to her husband of 57 years she is survived by three sons, Paul R. Viets of Enfield, Brian C. Viets and his wife Sharon of Harwinton and David M. Viets and his wife Debra of New Hartford; three daughters, Maureen A.
