Joan R. Hartman, age 73, of Taneytown, Maryland, died on Thursday, April 14, 2011 at the Carroll Hospice Dove House in Westminster, Maryland.
Born September 13, 1937 in Baltimore, she was the daughter of the late Howard H. and Louise M. (Kraus) Hubbard. She is survived by her husband of 50 years, Raymond J. Hartman, Jr.
Joan spent her childhood in Crisfield, Maryland and moved to Baltimore, Maryland in 1950. She graduated from Western High School in 1955 and attended Washington College in Chestertown, Maryland for two years. Later she graduated from Bard Avon Business School in Baltimore.
Surviving in addition to her husband are daughters, Karen Jensen of Fort Collins, Colorado and Gail Pafford of Duluth, Georgia; a son, Paul J. Hartman of Westminster, Maryland. Also surviving are grandchildren, Joshua, Natalie, Sarah, and Christopher Franklin, Micah Pafford, Ozzy Gulbranson, and Mark, Seth, and Katy Hartman; and a sister, Patricia Fleegle of Fla.
