Joan M. Price of Iron Station, NC, passed away peacefully surrounded by Love on January 15, 2021 at Atrium Health Lincolnton.  Joan was born at Joan Glancey Memorial Hospital in Duluth, Ga., on October 25, 1945.  Her parents named her after the hospital.  She was a native of Lawrenceville, Ga. where she grew up on the family farm.  She worked as a sales lady and gift wrapper at Belk in the early 60’s.  Then went on to work in the printing industry as a camera apprentice specializing in plate making, bindery, stripping, and developing.  She moved to North Carolina in 1977 with her late husband, daughter, and son, then later retired from the printing industry. Joan loved her family, God, the beach, art, music, cooking, dancing, and reading.  Joan was also a Sunday School and Vacation Bible School Teacher.  She was also a faithful member of Faith Baptist for over 25 years.  Her passion for life was Great, and her heart and home were always open to family and friends.  You never left her home hungry, or unloved.  She was the Greatest Mother, Nanny, Sister, Mentor, and Friend anyone could ever ask for, and she will be Greatly missed.

Joan is preceded in death by her beloved husband Phillip C. Price, her father, Ule E. Montgomery, mother Melrose S. Montgomery, brother Thomas Southard, and granddaughter Joan Nicole (NIc) Rice.  She is survived by her daughter Angela W. Stills ( Chris) of Catawba, NC, son Michael P.D. Price (Lora) of Charlotte, NC, step-daughter Kelly A. Price of NY, and step-son Scott Price ( Missy) of Gastonia, NC, sisters Betty Hrinko of Stockbridge, Ga., Della Montgomery of Bethlehem, Ga., brother Eddie Montgomery (Wanda) of Elberton, Ga., Grandsons Christopher Rice (Stephanie), Mason Price and Maddox Price, Matthew Price, Jeramiah LaBrake, Step-Granddaughter, Elyssa Stills, great grandchildren Jillian Rice and Everette Rice.  Countless nieces and nephews whom she loved dearly.

The Price Family would like to acknowledge the CCU nursing staff and the 3rd floor nursing staff at Atrium Health Lincolnton.  Thank you for taking such great care of our mother during her stay at the Hospital.
