On September 28, 2007, Joan M. Swan of Glen Burnie passed on after a lengthy illness. She is the beloved companion of the late William Hickey; loving mother of Robert MacLeod Nims, Sandy Hopkins, Bonnie Nims, and Linda Hicks; cherished grandmother of seven, and devoted great grandmother of 11. Joan was employed by the State of Maryland for 20+ years. She was a past president of the American Legion Women’s Auxillary Post 40.
