Joan M. Sherman, 90, a longtime resident of Milford, passed away peacefully on Sunday, February 15, 2015. She was born on July 23, 1924, to the late John and Margaret Jones Lemponen in Ashtabula, Ohio. For many years, Joan worked as a machinist and retired from Eldorado Tool. She was an avid Cleveland Browns fan and was known for her love of animals and her desire to adopt them all. She thoroughly enjoyed parties and having fun.
She leaves behind her children: William Harrold, Jr. of Seymour, Robert Harrold (Bonny) of Naugatuck, Joseph Harrold (Maggie) of TN, Judith Armstrong (Richard) of West Haven, Patricia Kistner (Carl) of FL, James Sherman (Lisbeth) of Bethany, Charlotte Sheehan (William) of West Haven and Margaret Sherman of Bridgeport; her loving grandchildren: Beau, Denise, Kim, Michael, Eric, Bradley, Gregory, Stacey, Kelley, Jamie, Lindsay, Adam, Cara, Ryan and Brittany; 18 great grandchildren and two beloved great great grandchildren. She is also survived by her cherished identical twin, Anne Armstrong, her sister, Marion Eastman and brother, John Lemponen. Joan will be greatly missed by all of her family and friends.
