Joan M. (Cifelli) (O’Connor) Marino, age 88, of Plymouth, MA died peacefully at her home on November 19th, 2020 with her family at her side. She was the devoted wife of the late Robert C. Marino and late Alfred F. O’Connor. Born in Weymouth, MA on March 4, 1932, Joan was the daughter of the late Salvatore Pasquale and Virginia Rose (Iuspa) Cifelli. Joan enjoyed varied interests including card playing, trips to different casinos, and collecting miniatures and angels. An avid football fan she would seldom miss a Patriot’s game. She was quite the fashionista and delighted in shopping. She took pride in her Italian heritage, and with that came cooking! She will always be remembered for her famous meatballs, which was used a currency within the family. She’d frequently say “Don’t be fresh!”, though she was tiny, she was mighty! Joan lived long enough to make her vote was the loving mother of Michael O’Connor of Dana Point, CA, Maureen O’Connor and her husband David Crookes of Mashpee, Kathleen O’Connor and her husband Michael Wojdylak of Pentwater, MI, and Patrice O’Connor and her husband Ralph Jameson of Plymouth. She was predeceased by seven siblings and her grandson, Jason Kumor. She was the cherished grandmother of nine, great-grandmother of seventeen, and beloved aunt to the Cifelli and O’Connor nieces and nephews. She is affectionately known as Nana Jones or Nana by her grandchildren and “Double Nana” by her great grandchildren.
