Mrs. Joan Lamb Wilson, age 87, of Valley, Alabama, died Monday morning at the East Alabama Medical Center Lanier Nursing Home.
Mrs. Wilson is survived by her children, Joellen (Danny) Berry, Stephen (Kathy) Wilson of Valley, Alabama, and Jeffery Wilson of Auburn, Alabama; grandchildren, Jeremy Wilson and Kathryn (Clayton) Garmon of Valley, Alabama; and great grandson Wilson Garmon.
Mrs. Wilson was born February 10, 1927, in Langdale, Alabama. She finished Valley High School in 1945 and graduated from Crawford Long School of Nursing in 1949 with a R.N. degree. Mrs. Wilson worked as a nurse for 40 years. She nursed at the old Langdale Hospital, Crawford Long Hospital, Dr. Lewis Norman and at the George H. Lanier Memorial Hospital. Mrs. Wilson was a member of the Fairfax United Methodist Church. Mrs. Wilson was preceded in death by her husband Luther Benson “Buddy” Wilson and grandchild William Gary Wilson. Mrs. Wilson was also preceded in death by her parents, Lee Vander Lamb and Leila Bradfield Lamb, and eight brothers and sisters.
