It is with great sadness that the family of Joan “Joanie” Louise Smolski announces her sudden passing on Saturday, August 18, 2018, at the age of 75 years. Joan will be fondly remembered by her son Sean MacDonald, his wife Amy, their children Ronan and Ruari, her daughter Tara Clark, her husband Alex and their children Aine, Niamh, and Evan, and her daughter Lisa Bryant and her husband Dennis. She is survived by her loving sister Elaine Austin, her sons Anthony Alleruzzo, Frank Alleruzzo, his wife Melissa and their children Frank and Sofia. Joan is predeceased by her parents Avard “Tut” McGray, Louise McGray, her brother Edward McGray, his children Craig and Nicole, her brother-in-law Frank Alleruzzo and survived by Edward’s wife Nancy and his children Michelle Martin and Trista McGray. Joan was born in Winthrop MA, on October 16, 1942. She is a graduate of Peabody High School and attended Essex Agricultural and Technical School, the University of New Hampshire and Salem State College. Joan enjoyed a long career as a hairdresser that began at Charles Ro Beauty Salon, as well as a career as an accountant for Sylvania and Autoroll Print Technologies.
