Joan Mary Kohlhaas, daughter of Eleanor A. (Loebach) Kohlhaas of Algona and the late Arthur J. Kohlhaas, passed away August 11, 2015 at Gentiva Hospice in Fort Worth, Texas. Joan was born on December 26, 1948 in Algona, Iowa.
She graduated from Garrigan High School in 1967. Joan then attended the College of St. Theresa in Winona, Minnesota where she received her Bachelor’s Degree in 1971. She later obtained her Master’s Degree in business administration.
Joan was employed by Puralotor Courier, Marriot Corp. and the last 25 years with Sodexo. At the time of her death she was the General Manager of Environmental Services at Bergen Hospital in Omaha, Nebraska. Joan took great delight in her nieces and nephews; maintaining a one-on-one relationship with each. Preceding her in death was her father, Arthur; and her grandparents, Connie and Susie Kohlhaas and Joseph P. and Elizabeth Loebach.
She is survived by her mother, Eleanor Kohlhaas of Algona; three brothers, Mike (Mary) Kohlhaas of West Bend, Bill (Diane) Kohlhaas of Morton, IL and Tom (Geri) Kohlhaas of Humboldt; and sisters, Jane Barton of Fort Worth, TX and Shelley (Kent) Kohlhaas Kern of Arygle, TX.
