Joan June Hart, 82, of Polk City died on Sunday, December 10, 2017, at Kavanagh House in Des Moines.
Joan, the daughter of Ivan and Colene (Southern) Hinshaw, was born on February 11, 1935 in Newton. She grew up in Newton and graduated from Newton High School in 1953. Joan was united in marriage to William “Bill” Hart on June 14, 1953 in Newton. She worked as an Office Assistant for Super Valu. Bill and Joan lived in Polk City, Iowa for many years.
Joan is survived by her sister, Peggy Milburn of Whittier, California; two nieces, Barbara (Jon) Strayer of Yorba Linda, California and Brenda (David) Alban of Thousand Oaks, California; three great-nieces and two great-nephews; her two great-great-nephews; and numerous honorary grandchildren. Joan is preceded in death by her parents and her husband, Bill.
