WEST CHESTER, OH – Joan I. Lora, 92, passed away Tuesday, March 8, 2022 at her daughters home.  She was born September 7, 1929 in Salem, OH, daughter of the late Russell and Lucille (Mullet) Hannay.

Joan worked in the office at the State of Ohio Employment Services for over 20 years, retiring in 1992 and in the office at Deming Pump Co.

She stayed in the area until 2020. Joan was a member of First Christian Church in Salem, OH, Subs Debs in high school, 4-H advisor, Pony Club advisor, Beta Sigma Phi Sorority, and Salem Historical Society Membership Chairman. She traveled extensively throughout the United States and England, even on the Orient Express.

Her husband, Thad Lora preceded her in death in 2005.

Besides her parents and her husband, she was preceded in death by a brother William Hannay and brother-in-law, Winston Lora who preceded his children, Beth Lora Degado, Neil Lora, Sarah Lora and Phil Lora.

Survivors include her daughter, Susan Lora; nephew, Mark Hannay and his children, Pat Hannay and Elizabeth Hannay.

Friends and family will be received from 9:30-10:30 a.m. Monday, March 14, 2022 at First Christian Church in Salem, OH.
