Joan Gifford, age 88, of Burt, passed away on December 16, 2020 at the Algona Manor Care Center. Joan Helen Gifford, the daughter of Jacob and Hilda (Fechner) Gifford, was born on January 25, 1932 in Burt, Iowa. She graduated from Burt High School in 1951. Joannie lived her whole life in Burt. She had worked at various jobs in town. Joannie was well known in Burt. She always had a happy smile and was very friendly to everyone that she met. In 2017 she moved to the Algona Manor Care Center after failing health issues.
Joannie is survived by her sister, Sherry (Jim) Schmidt of West Bend and many nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents; five sisters and a brother, Beulah, Peggy, Martha, Sally, Jean and Bernard “Bud”.
