Joan (White) Genest, 53, of Plainville, passed away peacefully at her home with her loving family by her side, on Monday, March 28, 2011.
Joan was born in Scotland on February 28, 1958, the daughter of Anne (Mullen) White of Waterbury and the late James White. She moved to the United States at a young age, and was raised in Waterbury where she attended local schools, and always remained proud of her Scottish heritage. Joan’s proudest accomplishment was being a loving and devoted mother to her children, of whom she was greatly proud.
Joan leaves her son and daughter-in-law, Sean and Alycia Huard of Plainville; her daughters, Amanda Turman of VA, Siavon Silva of NC, and Brittany and Bethany White of Plainville; and her pride and joy, her only granddaughter, Abigail Huard. She also leaves her brother, Hugh White of WI, her sisters, Lizann Marshall of New Britain, Dawn Jones of Bristol and Kimberly Jorge of Bristol, along with several nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her son, Brian Huard, her daughter, Katrina Silva, her brother, James White, and her sister, Heather George.
Family and friends may gather to celebrate Joan’s life on Thursday evening, from 5-7 p.m.
