WINSTED –SACCOMANI – Joan G. Saccomani, 83, passed away peacefully on February 6, 2019. She was born July 13, 1935 in Bridgeport; the daughter of the late John and Gladys (Oles) Dombrowski. Joan worked for Mason Silk for many years and then was a self employed seamstress sewing for local clothing stores. She was a talented wizard with any kind of needle making beautiful draperies, rugs, clothing and even placemats. She enjoyed crocheting, knitting and tatting. For many years, she volunteered knitting preemie baby caps for hospitals and later years, dedicated her time on Mondays sewing for the American Inn Retirement Community in MA. Another passion of hers was rollerskating. The family would like to thank the entire staff at Valerie Manor for their kindness and care. Joan will certainly to missed there for her one liners. They would also like to thank Heart to Heart Home Care, LLC in Torrington. She is survived by two sons, Glen Saccomani and wife Maureen of NV and Gary Saccomani of MA; 4 grandchildren, Michael Saccomani and Anthony Saccomani, both of MA and Nicole Saccomani and Dana Burd, both of NV; 3 great grandchildren; and a sister, Carol Jeffers of Barkhamsted. She was predeceased by a grandson, Nicholas Saccomani and a sister, Doris Pfeiffer.
