Joan Fowler, 48, passed away March 11, 2014 at home surrounded by her loving family. She was born March 6, 1966 to Russelle and Dorothy (Helley) Oellig at Rochelle, Illinois. Joan was a kind a compassionate person who never met a stranger and could always make people laugh. Joan loved people and spent her career in the hospitality industry as a manager for IHOP in Colorado Springs, Greely and Pueblo. Joan met her future husband and love of her life, Keith Fowler, Jr., on a blind date set up by her mom and in 1986 they were married. While she didn’t have children of her own; she was the “second mom” to her nieces and nephews whom she doted on constantly. She loved gardening, camping and crafting but most of all she loved her family whom she leaves to cherish her memory. She is survived by Keith Fowler, Jr., her husband of 27 years, parents; Russell and Dorothy Oellig, siblings; Vicki (Michael) Casher, Linda (Dwayne) Ray and Michael (Gina) Oellig and numerous nieces and nephews. She was preceded by her grandparents.
