Joan was born on June 25,1929. She was preceded in death by her beloved siblings, John Shaughnessy, Marie Facey, Sally Fitzgerald, and nephew Timmy Facey, niece Joyce Shaughnessy and great nephew Tyler Weymouth. As an Aunt, Joan was a second mother to all of her nieces and nephews and generously shared her life. Joan is survived by her loving nieces, Susan Shine, Joan Weymouth, Maria Herlihy, Rose Doherty, and Kathy Burbank, and loving nephews Sean Shaughnessy, Jay Facey, Charlie Facey, Paul Fitzgerald, Bobby Fitzgerald, and Paul Gill.
Joan retired to Orleans, and loved her life on the Cape. Joan was an animal lover, and always had a dog companion, who became the equivalent of another family member. “Mighty Mutt”, fondly referred to as M&M, is her surviving canine companion. M&M is being lovingly cared for by her niece and namesake Joan Weymouth.
