Joan E. (Delaney) Shanahan, 78, a well-known community volunteer and former member of the Upton Finance Committee and Board of Selectmen, died Sunday, April 2, 2017 at home. She was the wife of Charles M. Shanahan.
Mrs. Shanahan was born in Hartford, CT, a daughter of the late John B. and Birnie C. (Bocquin) Delaney, and had lived in Upton for 50 years.
In addition to her husband of 49 years, she leaves her sister, Mary Delaney of Upton, a niece and a nephew. She was also the sister of the late John T. Delaney.
