Joan Didsbury Mattie, age 85, passed away peacefully on June 13, 2021, surrounded by her family. Joan was living with her family in Suwanee, Georgia, at the time of her death.
Joan was born on April 10, 1936, in Bridgeport, Connecticut. She was a graduate of St. Mary’s High School in New Haven, Connecticut.
Joan is survived by her children, Robert & wife Renée, Christopher, Jennifer & husband Dave, Patrick & wife Deborah, and Beth & husband Jameson; grandchildren, Rebecca & Rachel, Andrew & Anthony, Robert & Jack; twin sister Jean; life long friend, Anna Longobardi; nephews, nieces, cousins, and her many friends. All of whom she loved deeply.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Frank & Edna Didsbury, and her brother, Frank Didsbury, Jr.
Joan began working while still in high school and worked up to the age of 80 years old. She was a bookkeeper, real estate broker, and real estate investor over the course of her long career.
Joan was an avid reader and had many hobbies, including baking, knitting, crocheting, bowling, and oil & acrylic portrait & scene painting. She enjoyed traveling, particularly to spend time with her children & grandchildren. She enjoyed countless hours playing cards & board games with her family & friends.
