Surrounded by her children, Retha Joan Simmons Belk, 81, peacefully passed away on May 4, 2015 at her home. Born October 13, 1933 in Taylorsville, North Carolina, she was a daughter of the late Rayford “Hahaw” and Melva Simmons.
She was a homemaker and a retired clerical administrative assistant with the Florida Department of Revenue. She was also a member of the Order of the Eastern Star. She is survived by her children, Edward Craig Belk, Deborah Jane Belk, Melva Jean Belk Green; grandchildren, Dillon Belk, Brett Belk, Aubrey Belk-Malowany, Adriana Green, Allyson Green; step-sister, Mariam Webster; brother-in-law, Jack Belk; as well as numerous nieces, nephews and cousins.
She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Marvin Craig Belk, Jr. and a son, Charles Leroy Belk.
