Jimmy W. JohnsonAge 77 of Corunna passed away Monday, May 8, 2017 at Memorial Healthcare.Funeral Services will be held 11am Friday May 12, 2017 at Nelson-House Funeral Home with Pastor Dan Bennett officiating. Burial will take place at Great Lakes Cemetery in Holly. The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Thursday from 4pm to 8pm with a Masonic Service at 7pm.Jimmy was born February 2, 1940 in Jewell Valley, Virginia; the son of Charlie and Hazel (White) Johnson. He married Dolly M. Sparks on April 13, 1961 in Tazewell, Virginia.Jimmy proudly served his country in the US Army during the Vietnam era.Jimmy worked at Fosterian Manor, where he was the Director of Maintenance and retired from Johnson Controls as a setup and repair man. He loved the outdoors where he enjoyed fishing, golfing and gardening. Jimmy also enjoyed music and was an accomplished guitarist he also enjoyed traveling and loved his special dog, Sadie.Jimmy is survived by his wife Dolly; children Susan (Kent) Bankhead, Sandra (Larry) LaFollette and Stephanie Johnson; grandchildren Megan (Allen) Roberts, Captain Caitlin Bankhead, Mark Bankhead and Tyler Merritt; great-grandchildren Cayden Bankhead, Amber Roberts and Cael Roberts; brothers Raymond (Virginia) Johnson and Johnny (Karen) Johnson; sister Carol (Paul) George; several nieces and nephews and many other loving family and friends.He was predeceased by his parents.Memorial contributions are suggested to the Mason’s.Online condolences may be sent to the family at Nelson-House.com.
