Jimmy Royce Swindle, Sr. age 83 , born April 28, 1937 in Samantha, Alabama went home to be with his Lord and Savior on January 17, 2021.
He is preceded in death by his parents Morgan and Vernie (Leonard) Swindle, seven siblings, and a special grandson Andrew Morgan Dukes.
He is survived by his wife of 63 years Marilyn Morris Swindle, children; Teresa Swindle Oswalt, Lisa Swindle Christian both of Samantha, Vanessa Swindle White of Tuscaloosa, Jimmy Royce Swindle, Jr. and his wife Jennifer of Samantha, grandchildren; Nicole Geer (Henry), of Coker, Lauren Shuttlesworth (Zach) of Tuscaloosa, Jeffery Reid White, Jr. (Brendi) of Tuscaloosa, Jimmy Royce Swindle III of Samantha, Samantha Drew Swindle of Samantha, great grandchildren; Christopher Dankson of Coker, Cason Dankson of Coker, Emma Shuttlesworth of Tuscaloosa, Annie Reese Shuttlesworth of Tuscaloosa, Ryleigh Claire Tabor of Tuscaloosa, Hudson Reid White of Tuscaloosa.
Captain Swindle retired after 30 years of service with the University Police Department and also retired from McGuire Engineering and Associates. He loved his Lord Jesus Christ and was a member and Deacon of Temple Baptist Church for 43 years. He loved his church family and helped in any way he could if needed. Gardening was a hobby and he excelled in growing vegetables and sharing with family and neighbors.
