Jimmy J. Walker Sr., 86, went to be with the Lord on March 12, 2022. He was born on April 20th, 1935, to Marshall and Elsie (Nelson) Walker in Brewster, Colorado. He married Marjorie “Midge” (Garrett) Walker, his wife of 54 years, on September 1, 1957.
Jimmy was a longtime member of St.
Mom and Dad loved going camping at Blue Mesa, Clear Creek, and Cottonwood Lakes with family and friends. They enjoyed going to Las Vegas and Cripple Creek.
Dad was in the Navy Reserves for 2 years then worked at CF&I Steel Mill in Pueblo for 46 years. He enjoyed retirement with Mom doing all the things they loved. He enjoyed watching the Broncos and Rockies at home with his wife.
He was mayor of Rockvale for a short time. He was also a volunteer fireman for Rockvale and the Florence Fire Protection District for 20 Years.
He is survived by his sister Ella Lloyd. Children Marty (Nancy) Walker, Todd (Lonna) Walker, Sheilla (Scott deceased) Alston, Shawna (Kerry) Appleman, Jimmy Walker Jr. (Emily). Grandchildren: Brandan (Ashley) Walker, Brittany Walker (Jason), Amanda (Chad) Fouche, Shannon (Ali) Walker, Shalina (Brandon) Barlow, Zachary Alston, Taylor Walker, Allison Appleman, Colton Walker.
Great Grandchildren: Landon, Jadyn, Talon, Jameson Walker; Timmy Chavez; Kayla and Jordyn Fouche; Peyton and Cameron Walker; Chelsea, MacKenzie, and Alexandria Barlow.
He was preceded in death by his wife Marjorie Walker, His parents Marshall and Elsie Walker. Siblings: Wanda, Marshall Jr., Evelyn, Earl, and Donny.
