Jimmy Compton, age 62, of Springfield, MO, passed away in his home on Saturday, June 5, 2010. He was born on September 6, 1947 in Berryville, AR, a son of Clyde and Lucille “Head” Compton. Jimmy graduated from Green Forest High School in 1965 where he played basketball for the “Green Forest Tigers”. He served his country in the U.S. Army during the Vietnam Era. He was employed for Securitas Security Services Inc. in Springfied for several years. Jimmy was an avid Razorback fan (basketball and football). In his free time he enjoyed playing basketball at the local YMCA. He is survived by his mother, Lucille Compton, of Green Forest, sister Shawna Tripp and husband Eric, of Clarksville, sister-in-law Karon Compton, of Green Forest, several nieces, nephews and a host of friends. He was preceded in death by his father Clyde Compton in 1999 and his brother Gary Compton in 2007.
