Jimmie R. Higgs, 64 of Wilburn went to be with the Lord Wednesday, June 18, 2014. He was born Friday, July 22, 1949 in St. Louis, Missouri to the late Theodore and Maurice Sparks Higgs. In addition to his parents, Jimmie was preceded in death by one son, Craig Higgs; a brother, Bob Higgs; and one sister, Maggie Smith. Jimmie valiantly served country in the United States Army. Jimmie was in the Infantry in Vietnam. He was awarded the Purple Heart, National Defense Service Medal, Vietnam Campaign medal, and the Good Conduct Medal. After Jimmie was discharged from the Army he later went to work for Arkla Gas for more than 20 years.
Jimmie is survived by his loving wife of almost 44 years, Cheryl Moore Higgs, one daughter, Candace Balentine and her husband Dennis; two grandchildren, Kaitlyn and Madelyn; one sister, Dolly Reynold and her husband Ken; other relatives and many friends.
