Jimmie Mitchell Porter 76 of Centralia died on April 3, 2013 at his home surrounded by his family. He was born on December 7, 1936 in Centralia the son of Ralph and Ruth (Hofstetter) Porter. He married Sandra Phillips in 1959 and they divorced in 1974, he then married Debra Harmon in 1976 and they divorced in 2000, his current companion is Barbara Ramey.
Mr. Porter is survived by his companion Barbara Ramey, two sons Rod Porter of Troy, and Troy and wife Monica of St. Peter’s, Missouri; four grandchildren Alex Porter, Sam Porter, Liam Porter and Kathryn Porter; three sisters Marilyn Fields, Barbara Garren and husband Richard, and Sandra Biggs and husband Allen; five nieces; one nephew; several cousins; and his special dog “Buddy”. Mr. Porter was preceded in death by his Parents, and one nephew.
Mr. Porter was employed with Illinois Bell Telephone Company as a cable splicer retiring after 33 years. He was a member of the Moose, enjoyed watching NASCAR, Cardinal’s Baseball, working in the yard, and golfing. Most of all he enjoyed spending time with his family and attending sporting events and activities for his grandchildren.
