Jimmie Lee Johnston passed away on Monday, March 5, 2018 at the Sky Ridge Medical Center in Lone Tree, Colorado. Jimmie was born to John and Margaret Johnson in Alpine, Indiana on February 21, 1935. When he was 11 years old he professed to serve God and his Faith and relationship with God were the most important things to him all through his life. He moved to California when he was 18 and worked for the Power Company. He met Ferol at a Gospel Meeting but then returned to Indiana to learn to be an electrician from his cousin. He returned to California 2 years later to work as an electrician in Palm Springs. He finally persuaded Ferol to marry him and they were married on September 7th, 1956. Jim & Ferol moved to Indio, California after they were married to take over some apartments for a couple who had to return to Indiana. Jim continued to work as and electrician until he decided to become a builder. He built many homes and apartments in the desert area. In 1981, while Linda was still at home, they moved to El Granada, CA where he continued to build homes. In 1993, they moved to Castle Rock, Colorado where they built homes in the Aurora and Colorado Springs area and then built the Golden Orchard Assisted Living Homes and operated them until the time of his death. Jim enjoyed business, hunting, fishing and helping people. He was known for his very large and generous heart. He is survived by his wife, Ferol, son Ted (Cathy) Johnston, daughters, Janet (Mark) Coulter, John’aLee (Ken) Burk, and Linda (Steve) Shannon, 13 grandchildren and 27 great grandchildren.
