Jimmie Joe Robinette went home to be with the Lord, 67, Acworth, Georgia, died October 2, 2002 at the Residences. He was born May 27, 1935 in Anderson, Indiana, and resided in Acworth, Georgia; formerly of Anderson. He lived in Anderson before moving to Acworth, Georgia area 12 years ago.
He was a mechanic & bus a driver for the Cobb County School District in Kennesan, Georgia. He formerly had been a mechanic for the City of Anderson Garage, a fireman for the City of Anderson Fire Department for 12 years and the Head Mechanic for the City of Speedway, Indiana. He served in the Army National Guard.
His great love was for children and animals and their protection. He was a racing enthusiast, His passions were Oval Track Racing and building performance engines for race cars. He was one of the Founding Members of the Piston Popper Club of Anderson.
He is survived by his Three Daughters: Julie Robinette Smith of Anderson. Terry Robinette Sloan of Bloomington. Sherry Robinette Fowler of Indianapolis. One Stepson: Stephen McDaniel of Indianapolis. One Brother: Kenneth W. & wife Leah J. Boze Robinette of Anderson. Two Sisters: Shirley K. & husband Dan Greely of Hortonville, Wisconsin. Shelly Jensen of Hortonville, Wisconsin. Several Grandchildren, several Nieces & Nephews including his caregiver & special niece: Pamela Barnes of Acworth, Georgia.
He was preceded in death by his Parents: George L. & Virginia L. Harney Robinette. Son: Jimmie Joe Robinette, Jr. Services will be Monday, October 7, 2002 at 10:00 AM, at Memorial Park Cemetery; 6805 Pendleton Avenue; Anderson, with Rev. Tim Bailey officiating. Burial will be in Memorial Park Cemetery, Anderson .
