James Douglas Turner, of Brantdied peacefully at home, surrounded by his loving family on November 10, 2023, at the age of 78.Jim was born on May 9, 1945, the son of Edgar Turner and Anna (Bodary) Turner in Saginaw, Michigan. He graduated from St. Charles High School in 1963. He was very active in school, participating in football, basketball, track, varsity club, industrial arts club, drama club, and was on the newspaper staff. After graduating high school, he married Kimberly Stoddard on September 5, 1964 and joined the Navy where he served his country proudly. Together they had three children, Jim, Denise, and Cammie. He worked as a skilled tradesman at General Motors (Buick) until he retired in 1994.Jim was known for being a \”power shopper\” always finding the best deals. He loved woodworking, camping, fishing, snowmobiling, and being in the outdoors. He was also a firefighter for the Chesaning – Brady Township Fire Department for many years.Jim is survived by his three children, Jim Jr. (Kim) Turner, Denise (Michael Patterson) Turner, and Cammie (Ted) Wendling; grandchildren, Andrew Turner (Mel), Nathan (Jodi) Turner, Shannon (Andrew) Mosquera, Kayla (Cameron) Stegehuis, Brandon Turner, Tyler Wendling, Brett Wendling, and Alex Wendling; and his 11 great-grandchildren. He is preceded in death by his wife, Kimberly Turner (2014); siblings, Edgar Turner, Patricia Turner, Sandra Turner, and Michael Turner; and his parents.
