Jesus is survived by his son Joe Rodriguez, daughter in law Lupe, grandchildren Gregory, Lisa,
Mireya, Arissa and great grandchildren Alexis, Kelton, Nadia, Natasha, Nicolas, Valentina and 5
great great grand children Chandler, Dawson, Grayson, Clayton, Beckham.
Jesus was born in Santa Maria California on May 21, 1928 to Lasara Chavez and Joaquin
Rodriguez. He was an only child raised by Mexican Immigrant parents. In his early years he
worked as a farmer and a field worker. He spoke of that time with fond memories. When he
moved to San Diego Jesus spent time working for the Santa Fe railroad as a switchman.
In 1946 Jesus married Trinidad Bermejo. In 1949 they welcomed their son Joe. That year he
also had a brief enlistment with the national guard. In 1953 he began his career at SDG&E and
retired in 1998 as a gas meter repairman. Although he was retired, he never stopped working.
He would always find some sort of jobs to get into. He always enjoyed having an extra set of
hands for anyone who asked.
Jesus was a devoted father and grandfather. He enjoyed hunting, fishing, and shot gun sports.
He also enjoyed road trips to Mexico. Jesus was a devout Catholic who volunteered for his
connecting with his friends at a local restaurant. He loved his sweets, chocolate almonds
especially. He loved spoiling his great grandchildren. Jesus was special to so many and will be
truly missed.
