Jesslyn J. “June” Fields, 86, of Vincennes, IN, passed away Sunday morning December 11, 2016 at 6:37 AM at the Amber Manor Care Center in Petersburg, IN.
She was born September 22, 1930 in Glendale, IN the daughter of John Jackson and Iremel “Irma” Jones Jackson Robinson. She was a graduate of Lincoln High School, in her working years, June made shoes at Brown Shoe Company and was also a dedicated hair dresser. June retired in 1994 from Harold’s Supermarket in Vincennes. Throughout her life, June spent much time sewing and crocheting. She also enjoyed opening her heart to needy cats and dogs and providing them with a loving home.
She was a member of Scared Heart Catholic Church. She volunteered at Generations where she helped in making Comfort Bears and items for children. She married Robert Fields and the made their life together for 50 years until his death in 2002. She was a devoted Wife, Mother and Grandmother.
She is survived by her children, Rodney “Rod” Fields, and his wife Sara of Otwell, IN and Karen Fields of Wheatland, IN. Her three grandchildren, Carrie Cordero and her husband Richard, Michael Fields and his wife Melissa, and Cori Deputy, and her husband Brandon; her four great-grandchildren, Christopher Turner, Grace and Gabby Cordero, and Conner Fields; and her step-sister, Rita Yochum.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Robert Fields, her parents and a brother James Jackson.
