Jessie Louise Bryant Kitchen, 85, of Moberly died peacefully September 30, 2016 after losing her battle with liver cancer.  Jessie was born January 27, 1931, in Moberly, to Joe and Fonda (Smith) Bryant.

In her early years she worked at Brown’s Shoe Factory and Toastmaster.  She retired from Orscheln’s after 25 years of service.  She then went back to work at Wal-Mart for another 20 years because she loved working with people so much; retiring in 2015.   Jessie was a member of Sweet Springs Baptist Church for over 50 years.

She married Raymond Kitchen of Moberly on March 31, 1949 in Huntsville. In their 44 years of marriage they ran a farm and raised four boys.  Raymond preceded her in death in 1993.  Also preceding her in death were her parents, three sons Joe, Rick, and Doug Kitchen; a grandson Nick Kitchen; and a sister Barbara Freels.

Survivors include her son Gene Kitchen and wife Debby of Cairo; grandchildren, Brian Kitchen and wife Melina of Corbin, KY, Jeremy Kitchen of Cairo, Jake Holloway of Moberly, Jesse Kitchen of Australia, Brandy Birdsong and husband Jeff of Columbia, Christina Gudinas and husband Rob of Edmond, OK, Jackie Kitchen of Moberly; sister Martha Winter and husband Mel of Columbia; brother-in-law James Freels of Moberly; daughters of heart Christine D’Elia of Moberly, Mary Jo Colley of Huntsville; eleven great-grandchildren; and many nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives and friends.

Jessie loved her flowers, birds, butterflies, and church.  Her life revolved around her grandchildren.
